Gibson + Luce
Named after former LIFE magazine editors Charles Dana Gibson and Henry R. Luce, the space that now houses Life Hotel’s cocktail bar, Gibson + Luce, is rumored to have once been a speakeasy for magazine staffers during Prohibition. The subterranean bar combines the hotel’s rich history with a modern approach to classic, expertly-made cocktails. Escape the bustle of Midtown Manhattan and enjoy a drink by our bar master or a bite to eat from Chef Michael Vignola’s accompanying bar menu. Unwind from the day with great company and conversation or take to the turntable outfitted with a collection of vinyl records.
“A Ghost’s Toast to Life” – Conde Nast Traveler
“Unlike many of New York’s other modern backroom bars, Gibson & Luce isn’t just a recreation of Prohibition-era drinking dens – it’s the real thing.” -Zagat
